چکیده

Sulisobenzone (BP-4) is one of the benzophenone type UV filters most frequently detected in aquatic ecosystems. As a suspected endocrine disrupting compound, scarce information available yet about other molecular effects and its mechanism action. Here, we used an integrated transcriptomic metabolomic approach to improve current understanding on toxicity BP-4 towards species. Gilt-head sea bream individuals were exposed at environmentally relevant concentrations (10 ?g L-1) for 22 days. Transcriptomic analysis revealed 371 differentially expressed genes liver while identified 123 modulated features plasma 118 liver. Integration data showed disruption energy metabolism (>10 pathways related amino acids carbohydrates impacted) lipid (5 glycerophospholipids expression 3 enzymes affected), suggesting oxidative stress. We also observed, first time vivo environmental concentrations, several involved steroid thyroid hormones biosynthesis. DNA RNA synthesis was impacted by changes purine pyrimidine metabolisms. Overall, multiomic workflow presented here increases evidence exposure identifies additional modes action compounds that could have been overlooked using single omic approaches.

Chemotaxis of pathogenic Vibrio strains towards mucus surfaces of gilt-head sea bream (Sparus aurata L.).

Vibrio anguillarum and Vibrio alginolyticus exhibited significant adhesion to and chemotactic abilities towards mucus collected from the skin, gills, and intestine of gilt-head sea bream. Quadratic polynomial models for chemotaxis designed to estimate the influence of temperature demonstrated a differential bacterial chemotaxis depending of the source of the mucus, with the chemotaxis towards i...

Pathogenicity of Vibrio alginolyticus for cultured gilt-head sea bream (Sparus aurata L.).

The in vivo and in vitro pathogenic activities of whole cells and extracellular products of Vibrio alginolyticus for cultured gilt-head sea bream were evaluated. The 50% lethal doses ranged from 5.4 x 10(4) to 1.0 x 10(6) CFU/g of body weight. The strains examined had the ability to adhere to skin, gill, and intestinal mucus of sea bream and to cultured cells of a chinook salmon embryo cell lin...

The stress response of the gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata L.) to air exposure and confinement.

We investigated short-term effects (up to 24 h) of air exposure and confinement, and long-term effects (up to 11 days) of confinement, to elucidate signalling pathways in the stress response of gilthead sea bream Sparus aurata L. Plasma glucose and lactate were taken as indicators of sympathetic activation, and alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH), adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH...

Isolation and characterization of a fish F-type lectin from gilt head bream (Sparus aurata) serum.

A novel fucose-binding lectin, designated SauFBP32, was purified by affinity chromatography on fucose-agarose, from the serum of the gilt head bream Sparus aurata. Electrophoretic mobility of the subunit revealed apparent molecular weights of 35 and 30 kDa under reducing and non-reducing conditions, respectively. Size exclusion analysis suggests that the native lectin is a monomer under the sel...
